Uptown Movie Club is a community-driven initiative to consistently bring neighbors together over a love of cinema while supporting the local businesses that make Uptown worth loving. We meet on the third Wednesday of every month at 7 PM at Lagoon Cinema, with a pre-movie meet-up at Mari's Watch Bar. We watch a film together, and discuss it afterward. Think of it like a book club, but you don't have to read the book.
Uptown Movie Club is 100% volunteer run by neighbors who care about this community. Want to get involved? Fill out the contact form on our home page or reach us directly at UptownMovieClub@gmail.com. The more neighbors the better.
Our programming is selected by our volunteer team with one goal in mind: finding films that spark conversation and mean something to this community. That said, we are limited by what is available and what we are able to secure screening rights for, and as a brand new organization we are very much taking a crash course in how film licensing works. We welcome suggestions and would love to hear what you'd like to see. Reach out at UptownMovieClub@gmail.com or fill out the contact form on our home page.
Tickets are available through the button on our home page at uptownmovieclub.com. We recommend grabbing yours early, they go fast.
Inclusivity is important to us. Closed captioning availability depends on the individual film, but we are committed to doing everything we can to make our screenings accessible to everyone. If you have specific accessibility needs please don't hesitate to reach out at UptownMovieClub@gmail.com and we will do our best to help.
Thank you! Our original Uptown Movie Club t-shirt is available at uptownmovieclub.com. Every purchase goes directly back into future events, so you are supporting the community just by looking good.
